It is increasingly recognised that bacteria, fungi and viruses found naturally in the lungs and the gut have a role in health and disease. These micro-organisms, called the ‘’microbiome’’ are responsive to changes in the environment and are increasingly thought to play a role in respiratory and cardiometabolic diseases. In this seminar, two leading experts discuss their research into the role and effect of microbiome on human health.
