Understanding and diagnosing common childhood illnesses

Seminar Date: March 24, 2026 Theme:Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance

As children grow up they are exposed to a wide variety of common illnesses for which fever is often a unifying symptom. Although in most cases children will recover well on their own, sometimes these illnesses can become more serious. Research is underway at Imperial to understand disease mechanisms of common childhood illness, how to identify those that are more serious, and how to treat them.

In this seminar, two experts will talk about their research on understanding and diagnosing common childhood illnesses.
